Objects
Much in the same vein of his work as an interior designer, Filip Tack strives for both durability and purity in its every form through his series of objects. Taking functionality as a starting point, with space in mind and natural materials as guides, his designs grow to take the form of unique, handmade and numbered pieces, each often fulfilling not one but multiple functions. From side tables that double as serving dishes to paravents that hint at an open wardrobe, these solitary interior objects truly stand out in their own right without being part of a collection. Once combined, they comprise a list of essential pieces.

Object 1 – hdsk

Paravents are perfect for creating a sense of openness or privacy when and where it is needed. However, this particular example takes things a step further. Thanks to the addition of a beautifully rounded and silver-plated brass hook, it also allows you to hang up clothes without risk of damaging them. As such,  this object somewhat resembles a wardrobe of sorts. Other intricate details include the refined veneer design and the subtly concealed connecting hinges. PS: the clothes hook is also removable!

This floor lamp comes in two sizes. With functionality at the core of every design process, the guiding principle for this object was the search for perfect ambient light. With the lighting element of these lamps concealed from view, the object fully embodies the atmospheric character of a lit candle.

This solid wood side table comes with matching tray.  Through clever use of magnets, it is possible to either connect or separate these two constituent elements. As beautiful as it is practical: the bevelled edges of the tray provide for an easy grip.

Object 4 – chll

Sinking into that favourite chair – it’s a different experience for everyone. That’s why this single-seater allows you to choose the level of incline that’s right for you. By unscrewing the removable, round rod from the side of the chair and moving it to the back, it is possible to slightly alter the seating angle to a more active position.

Three round bowls that together form one single unit. Use them separately, stack them to your liking or simply enjoy their aesthetic beauty as objects in themselves. Each bowl is made up of three layers, with wood at the top, solid surface material in the middle and marble at the bottom. Also note the even spacing between the bowls, as well as its bevelling for enhanced grip.

17/27/37cm diameter x 21/9.5/13cm H

Material

marble - solid surface material - natural oak

Object 6 – TRVT

TRVT elevates the humble trivet - both literally and figuratively. Interior architect Filip Tack reimagined this everyday object as a sculptural composition of four interlocking rings that can be stacked, rearranged, used individually, or combined to suit the moment, the meal or the company. Crafted from natural oak, it gives a purely functional object a new sculptural presence, with a subtle reference to the stepped geometry of the ancient ziggurat. The design was born from a love of gathering around the table, an age-old ritual that transcends cultures and brings people together. It sparks conversation or creates space for shared silence. Either way, TRVT celebrates every moment spent together.

Object 7 – TBRT Hi & Low

TBRT Hi & Low was born from a simple observation: too many chairs around the table create visual clutter, yet there should always be room for extra or unexpected guests. The duo consists of a low, wide stool - available with or without a leather cushion - and a tall, slender stool that can be quickly pulled up whenever needed. Crafted from locally sourced, durable oak, both three-legged stools reveal their construction through a circular opening that exposes the connection between the seat and the supporting structure beneath. Inspired by a nomadic way of life, TBRT Hi & Low are easy to move around and always ready whenever people gather. Functional by nature, they are refined enough to stand on their own as understated architectural objects.
